To Medina County Residents:
On Tuesday, May 3, 2022 Primary Election voters will cast their ballots for Medina County Auditor. I am your Republican candidate for Medina County Auditor. I have 17 years of Auditor Office experience and I am a 23-year Medina County resident. Currently, I am serving Medina County residents as a re-elected Brunswick City Councilman. I am fiscally responsible and I share this responsibility with my city council colleagues overseeing a 44-million-dollar budget with 120 employees.
My 17 years of Auditor Office experience is composed of working under six different Auditor administrations at the largest County Auditor's Office in Ohio. I worked in the General Accounting Department and my duties were assisting with the county payroll and processing monthly reports.
I worked as a data collector in the Appraisal Department viewing and visiting thousands of real estate parcels. Concurrently, I measured new homes, home additions, decks, and garages when a homeowner applied for a building permit. I also worked as an office aide in the Board of Revision Department assisting homeowners with complaints against their property valuations. I spoke with hundreds of homeowners who presented their evidence to lower or increase their property values.
Next, I worked as a clerk in the Homestead Department assisting seniors, disabled homeowners, and veterans, to qualify for their homestead exemption credit. In addition, I became a state certified Weights & Measures Inspector in the Division of Weights & Measures. As a Weights & Measures Inspector, I protected consumers and business owners from waste and fraud, by inspecting and testing the gas station pumps and grocery store scales within the county.
Furthermore, I worked in the Estate Tax and Personal Property Department counseling and answering homeowner’s questions. Lastly, I worked as an Assistant Manager in the Dog License Department. Here, I issued dog license tag numbers for the safety of our pets should the become lost.
In addition to my 17 years of Auditor Office and City Council experience, I have an experienced law enforcement background. I served as a Common Pleas Court and Juvenile Court Bailiff providing courtroom security for judges, attorneys, prosecutors, jurors, witnesses, and office personnel. I served as a police officer for seven years, working under the jurisdiction of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners Department of Central Services located at the County Courthouse and Justice Center.
I am a graduate of Case Western Reserve University Gund School of Law – Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA). I also graduated from Cuyahoga Community College with an Associate of Science Degree in Law Enforcement. Presently, I am a registered Notary Public and Process Server in the State of Ohio.
My wife, Diane, and I are homeowners who live at 4188 Dennis Lane in Brunswick, and we are parishioners of Saint Ambrose Catholic Parish. Diane has worked as a hospital registered nurse for more than 30 years. We are both advocates and supporters of Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital, and Christian Broadcast Network – CBN 100 Club partner.
We also support animal rescue. Our latest rescue is a beagle-lab dog named Rudy. I am a proud and active member of the Brunswick Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3505, as well as Elks Lodge 1494.
I believe that my 17 years of Auditor Office experience combined with my City Council and law enforcement experience, qualify me to serve you as your Medina County Auditor.
I respectfully ask for your vote. Please join the police, firefighters, teachers, veterans, realtors, community activists, and public officials who are supporting my candidacy for Medina County Auditor.
