Following the Memorial Day holiday, trash collection was delayed one day, as always following a holiday. But our neighbors north of Persimmon did not get their trash picked up on Saturday, as ours was. My wife heard from residents they were told by City Hall they would have to drag their refuse back in their garages and wait another full week for collection! Holy cow! It was bad enough seeing the streets littered with garbage strewn about, but hearing that it would not be collected until the following week brought visions of animals, assorted vermin and a huge mess in the neighborhood. I understand that Mr. Capretta was contacted and did what he has always done: serve his neighbors well. I am not sure what thinking went into the first decision by our city managers, but I am glad (as always) that Anthony Capretta has our backs. Well done, Councilman Capretta (and thank you)!
